Ana Maria Mariani is a multifaceted global citizen, born in the South of Venezuela of post-war Italian Immigrants; after many years living in South Florida and Santiago/Chile, she is currently based and works out of her Maitland, Florida Studio. She studied Business, graduated Law School, but her passion has always been the arts … Photography, oil and acrylic Painting, and Textile Art. Her childhood was molded by the local natural landscapes and the very contrasting sceneries of southern Italy and southern Venezuela; this brought forth her love for vibrant colors and textures that are ultimately manifested in her works. She has notably been influenced by the works of local native artisans of Chile and also of Sheila Hicks.

Ana Maria’s artistic expression is all about introspection, looking deep into life’s experiences new and old, joyful and developmental, her own or those with whom she has been lucky to share important moments, and translating all these feelings and memories, into color and texture.

Her wood and textile sculptures mimic tree limbs that she saw in the South of Venezuela as well as the Amalfi coast in Italy. She decorates her wood sculptures with the most beautiful textiles such as Sari Silk, Sari Yarn, Alpaca, Core Spun Art Yarn, and Wool.

Her passion for painting is just as strong as with the sculptures, expressing her vision of color and texture on wood and canvas with acrylic and oil.

Her works can be found in homes across continents in cities such as Madrid, Bari, Panama, Oranjestad, also throughout Venezuela and the South Eastern USA.
